Announcing my intent to run for the District 24 position 1, Washington State House of Representatives, serving Clallam County, Jefferson County, and Northern Grays Harbor County as an independent.

My core value is to restore and support every member's well-being in our community. My name is Ted Bowen, and I am running to represent District 24, Position 1 in the legislature in 2026. Grounded in my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ and shaped by my own life experience, I am committed to serving you. Faith, family, and community guide my actions and will shape my service as your representative.

I was born in Spokane, Washington, and lived there until seventh grade. My family then moved to Port Angeles, Washington, because of challenging circumstances. Soon after, my stepfather was deported. I spent some of my teenage years in Mexico. Still, Port Angeles remains home. My children were raised here, and now my grandchildren are as well. My mother was a proud Lower Elwha tribal member. Life has had its ups and downs. I know what it is to be on the street, to lose a child, to get divorced, to come from a broken home, and to witness people suffer from addiction and suicide. All these experiences led me to the truth and brought me into ministry on the Olympic Peninsula. My goal is to help people understand their value. I want them to know there is a plan and purpose for their lives beyond addiction, homelessness, or mental health struggles. Through street ministry, I have learned much about mental health and addiction. I have also learned the frustrations and concerns of people in the Pacific Northwest. My main goal is to stand in the gap. I do not want to just talk about the issues—I want to be part of making real change.
